SARASOTA, FLORIDA CPA SELECTED BY AICPA TO HOLD AND USE THE DESIGNATION CHARTERED GLOBAL MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

Sarasota, Florida, June 30, 2012---Charles (Chuck) Margetta, CPA, MBA has fulfilled all the established requirements of eligibility by demonstrating the necessary qualification and is hereby entitled under the conditions prescribed by the AICPA to hold and use the designation Chartered Global Management Accountant according to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.

Mr. Margetta is a member of Plum & Company, CPAs in Sarasota.   Chuck was selected based on experience as CFO of PBS before moving to Florida and as a Manager on the Ernst & Young Consulting National Technical Staff in Washington, D.C.  His clients included Coca Cola, Toys RUs, Shipbuilders Council of America, Nuclear Regulatory Agency, Department of Energy, USPS and local offices of Ernst & Young and their clients.  Today he provides management and tax consulting services to manufacturers, exporters and off shore taxpayers. He was named an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) several years ago in appreciation and recognition of continuing contributions to the profession and more recently was selected by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) to be a Member of its Resource Group.

CGMA is the new global designation for CPAs working in business and government.  It is powered by the resources and expertise of the AICPA and CIMA, two of the world’s leading accounting organizations.  The AICPA, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants was founded in 1887 and established rigorous educational requirements, high professional standards, a strict code of professional ethics, licensing status and a commitment to serving the public interest.  CIMA, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants was founded in 1919 and received a Royal Charter in 1975 from Elizabeth the Second.  It promulgates skill standards for strategic advice, managing business risk and making key decisions.  It is headquartered in London and has offices throughout the world.

Sarasota CPA  Selected By Financial Accounting Standards Board to be a Member Of Its Not-For-Profit Resource Group

Sarasota, Florida, May 17, 2010 - Charles (Chuck) Margetta, CPA, MBA has been asked by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) to be a member of the not-for-profit resource group it is forming.

Mr. Margetta is a member of Plum & Company, CPAs in Sarasota.   Chuck was selected based on experience as CFO of PBS before moving to Florida and as a Board Member of not-for-profits in Florida.  While at PBS he lead a team that prepared and presented "white papers" that addressed unique financial reporting considerations of not-for-profits that resulted in several standards specific to not-for-profit organizations.  Today he provides management and tax consulting services to manufacturers, exporters and off shore tax payers. He was named an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) several years ago in appreciation and recognition of continuing contributions to the profession.

The FASB is the designated organization for establishing standards of accounting that govern the preparation of financial statements.  The FASB is officially recognized as authoritative by the Security and Exchange Commission and the AICPA.  Such standards are important to the efficient functioning of the economy because investors, creditors, auditors and others rely on credible, transparent and comparative financial information.

The mission of the FASB is to establish and improve standards of financial accounting and reporting for the guidance and education of the public, including issuers, auditors and user of financial information.
