At Plum & Company, CPAs, PA the health and safety of our office staff and clients are our top priority. With the COVID-19 virus having an increasing impact in our community, we want to let you know how our business is addressing this situation.

After much consideration and angst over the COVID-19 spreading through our Sarasota community, we have made the decision at Plum & Company to temporarily stop our face to face meetings to review your personal tax return data as of today, Friday, March 20, 2020.

While this situation is rapidly evolving from the number of cases in Sarasota to a 90-day Federal filing and paying extension of your personal taxes, we will continue to work preparing your returns and communicating with you via phone calls and emails.

If you are scheduled to meet with us next week to deliver your tax data, we have some alternative options to meeting face to face.

Secure Client Portal

Through the Plum & Company website,, we have a secure portal through which you can upload digital copies of your documents.  To register to use this portal, visit our website or give us a call to walk you through the process of registering to use this service. You can access the portal via the Resources Tab or

Drop off or Fax Data

You can drop off your documents at our front desk or fax them to us (941) 951-2429.  We will then review and scan them into our system, identify any missing items or questions.  Then we will schedule a time for a phone conference to review your 2019 tax situation before we prepare your tax return. 

All of the efforts to minimize the spread of COVID-19 are ever evolving.  Specific regulations, procedures and fine tuning are yet to come.  We will continue to keep you apprised as we learn the specifics.

In the meantime, send us your tax data and we will continue to self-quarantine at our desks, maintain a 6’ distance from each other when retrieving your faxes and printed documents, working to stay healthy while we prepare your tax return.

You will have questions.  As will we.  We are available on the phone and via email to ask and answer the questions.

When your tax return is ready, assuming we are in the same situation, we will upload it through the portal, or mail it to you for us to review and discuss via telephone.

It is our sincere hope that you are safe and remain healthy through this period.  We will do our part to help ensure this.
